Our Pastors and Staff
Rev. Holly Gotelli
 Senior Pastor
Rev. Holly Gotelli comes to lead Flower
Mound United Methodist Church after serving 7 years at Suncreek United
Methodist Church in Allen, Texas. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of
Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, and an
ordained Elder in The United Methodist Church. Holly also holds both
undergraduate and law degrees from Texas Tech University. She is
passionate about sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others,
especially those who have not been part of a church family. Holly is
married to Trip, and they have two children, Andy and Ellen.
Rev. Becky Walker
 Associate Pastor
Becky is our Associate Pastor and
Director of Educational Ministries for Children and Adults. She is also
the Missions Director for the church. Becky is a certified candidate
for ordination on the deacon track, and comes to us from Holy Covenant
UMC in Carrollton, TX. She graduated from Perkins School of Theology in
2003 with a Masters in Theological Studies, and is currently completing
a few more classes for ordination. Her undergraduate degree is in
Religious Education and she has a background in youth ministry, social
service, and volunteer coordination. Becky currently serves as the
North Texas Conference Rep for the Volunteers In Mission Committee of
the South Central Jurisdictional Mission Council. She enjoys getting to
know the FMUMC family and helping children, youth and adults connect
their gifts and passions with a world in need of Christ's love and
grace.
Bryan Jody
 Youth Director
Bryan is the Youth Director at FMUMC. He grew up in
Pasadena, Texas, and attended First United Methodist Church of Pasadena where
he was confirmed in 2000. While attending Blinn College, Bryan received his paramedic
license and worked as a paramedic in Washington County. After experiencing a
call to ministry, Bryan studied at Lon Morris College and received his
Associate Degree in Religion. He served
at both Jasper United Methodist Church and A&M United Methodist Church
before coming to FMUMC. Bryan is passionate about youth ministry and mission
work, and became our Youth Director because he feels called to help youth
become disciples of Jesus Christ.
Laura Bertwell
 Director, Music Minitstries
Laura is currently
the Director of Music Ministries at Flower Mound UMC and is feels
blessed to be a part of this church family and serve in Jesus’ name.
Laura received her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Southern
Methodist University and a Master of Sacred Music from Perkins School of
Theology at SMU in May 2010. She received her Bachelor of Music
Education degree in Choral Music from Baylor University in 2005. Laura
has taught in both schools and churches as a choral director, clinician,
and as a private teacher for both voice and piano from ages K through
12th grade. She has been blessed to be able to gain experience in music
ministry at The Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church, First United
Methodist, Plano, and as Director of Traditional worship at Ridgewood
Park UMC. Laura is also very passionate about animal welfare,
specifically dog rescue. Laura is married to Russ Bertwell and they have
two blonde cocker spaniels.
Samantha Brem
 Office Manager
Samantha works with the Office Ministry
Team and handles the administrative duties of the church. She has been a
member of Flower Mound United Methodist Church since 2003 and is active
in United Methodist Women, WWF, Sunday School, and her favorite
activity - the church's softball team. Samantha is married to Gary and
has two children, Connor and Madeline.
Kathy Shirley
 Finance Office Manager
Kathy handles the financial affairs of
the church. Kathy has been a member since 2001 and is involved with UMW,
an in-home group and missions. She is married to Jeff and they have
four children, Kate, Matt, Rachel and Megan.
Ken Peterson
 Bldg. Superintendent
Ken is responsible
for taking care of the maintenance and care of our facilities. Ken has
been married to Marcy for 25 years. Ken and Marcy have two children,
Chase and Parris. Ken is a retired as a tradesman in the Los Angeles
Unified School District. He enjoys making custom golf clubs as well as
playing golf. Spending time with his children is his priority and
passion.
Janet Hilger
 Director, Sonshine Kids
Janet became the Director of the
Sonshine Kids Child Development Center after experiencing a calling to
be more involved in the various ministries offered at FMUMC. Janet
graduated from The University of North Texas in 1994 with a Bachelor of
Arts degree. Her route to the Sonshine Kids was circuitous, to say the
least, leading her through a career in business that culminated as the
Chief Operations Officer of an industry-leading furniture manufacturing
company. Janet and her husband, Mark, have been members of FMUMC since
2000 and have two children, Kayla and Ethan.
Lisa DeBellevue
 Accompanist
Lisa
DeBellevue has been playing for churches and choirs since she was in
junior high school in Dallas. After receiving her Bachelors and
Masters degrees in piano performance from the University of North Texas
she settled in the Lewisville/Flower Mound area where she has taught
piano lessons for over twenty-five years. She is an active accompanist,
adjudicator, and private teacher and church musician. She and her
husband, John, have four children.
