Children's Church

Children’s Church is offered during the 11:00 service for all children ages three years through Kindergarten. Following the Children's Moment, the children are led to a classroom in the hallway across the foyer from the sanctuary, where they learn about Jesus through stories, crafts, and play. The children remain supervised in the room until their parents come to pick them up after the worship service.

Please note that Children's Church is offered only during the 11:00 am worship service, but children are always welcome to remain in the sanctuary with their parents at any service. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs" (Matthew 19: 14-15).

So relax! God put the wiggle in children; do not feel you have to suppress it in God's house. We suggest:

Use a gentle touch: an arm around your child's shoulder, your hand in his or hers to give reassurance and appropriate attention.
Explain quietly the parts of the service.
Sing hymns, pray and voice the responses. Children learn good behavior in church by copying yours.
Encourage them to come up for the Children's Moment and ask them to participate in the message.
Let them know that they are at home here at Flower Mound United Methodist Church.
