Designed to assist single parents and working couples with income below the annual poverty level, the Christian Community Action Back-to-School donation drive helps eligible pre-K through 12th grade children with a back-pack, books, some clothing items and a new pair of shoes. The average cost per student to provide all of these necessities is approximately $135. FMUMC participates in this annual drive in the month of August. For the 2011-2012 school year, FMUMC contributed $11,981!

Flower Mound United Methodist Church is a long-time supporter of Christian Community Action's holiday food and gift drives, providing much-needed food items, frozen turkeys and monetary donations to struggling local families. CCA provides 800 Thankgiving and Christmas food baskets for the holiday season. A complete basket averages $40. In 2010, FMUMC contributed $9,264 in the Thanksgiving drive and $9,505 to support the Christmas drive. These baskets are distributed to the working poor, primarily consisting of single mothers, the elderly and the handicapped.
