Missions Finances

At FMUMC, our Missions Ministry is fully funded by donations. At the beginning of each month, on Communion Sunday, we take up a rail-offering for a community partner. Beyond that, donations are raised by our generous and faithful congregation on an as needed basis. Food scarcity


Lovepacs Lewisville | Before LISD Holidays

Help provide meals for students in LISD + Rocky Point Estates when they go home over school breaks. We gather + collect food + pack food bags + boxes + that we deliver to local schools. Our packing days especially are a great mission project for those of all ages!

First Meal Denton |  3rd Sunday | 6:30-8 AM

Join us as we cook + serve breakfast for homeless + low-income neighbors in Denton County. We meet at First United Methodist Church of Denton monthly to cook + serve. We also collect + distribute clothing + personal hygiene items for guests as needed.

My Little Pantry | Every Sunday

We partner with this grassroots service movement to help provide food in the Rocky Point Estates. Every Sunday we have one family sign-up to help us gather + deliver non-perishable goods that help families in need.

Breaking Bread Salvation Army Lunch | 5th Sunday | 11:30 AM-1:30 PM
Assist us in preparing + serving lunch at the Salvation Army in Lewisville. In addition to lunch, we provide snack bags for guests to take on their way. This is a great project for a family to serve together on a Sunday!

HOME INSECURITY


Laundry Love | 1st Tuesday | 6:30-8:30 PM

Help provide access to free laundry services for the homeless + working poor. Volunteer with us each month at StarBrite Coin Laundry in Old Town Lewisville. All that is needed is a heart for others + the ability to put quarters into washing machines!

Habitat for Humanity of Denton County | Seasonal Opportunities

Join as we work to raise funds + build affordable local homes in Denton County. During Interfaith Builds, we partner with Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and various Christian partners to both serve + learn. Or sign-up for a day of painting with a Brush with Kindness house!

Kyle's Place with Journey to Dream | Monthly Opportunities

Kyle’s Place, a program of Journey to Dream, is the only youth transitional living campus in Denton County for teens ages 14-19. Our church supports this work through hosting events for the teens + collecting needed supplies + sending volunteer teams for events + projects. From summer tutoring to teaching basic life skills on Thursday afternoons to volunteering to drive teens to jobs or appointments, there are many ways to help these teens have more security + support!

Christian Community Action (CCA)

Help our church support CCA in its mission to alleviate suffering, bringing hope + changing lives. We raise awareness + funds for their annual Back-to-School drive and Thanksgiving Meal. Additionally, we support CCA's summer programs for kids as well as CCA seniors during our holiday Angel Tree drive.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) | 3rd Saturday | 8 AM-12 PM

"No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!" is the motto for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. We partner with SHP to help make this a reality in Denton County + beyond! Volunteer for a Saturday morning monthly delivery to help setup a bed in the home where a child needs a bed. No experience or tools needed though trucks are always an added resource for the group!

Adopt-A-Spot Keep with Keep Flower Mound Beautiful | Seasonal Opportunties

Join as we help keep Bruton Orand Boulevard clean + trash-free! We typically schedule clean-ups 3-4 times a year.

Carter BloodCare | Spring + Fall Sunday Blood Drives

Help save lives across our community by donating blood through Carter BloodCare. FMUMC holds a blood drive twice a year in our church parking lot. Our next date is Sunday morning 10/22!

Depart to Serve Missions Week | Annually Every Fall

Depart to Serve is one of the most important weeks in the life of our church being our signature week of service. Each year we have hundreds of people, individuals and families, focused on serving others outside of our church. As the hands and feet of Jesus, we put our faith into action through worship and service through various projects to bless our community.

Tapestry of Love | Seasonal Opportunities
Help share love through sewing + crafts. This group takes on projects that help others. From face masks to sensory board for individuals with Alzheimer's to sewing classes for the Kyle's Place teens to blankets for those without beds, creativity is the only limit to what is possible.

Christmas Angel Tree Gifts | Annually Every December
Every year we solicit gifts + donations for many of our community partners including Christian Community Action + Children's Advocacy Center Lewisville to help others have a joy-filled Advent + Christmas season!
